ION Bags Rights to Air NFL Game of the Week

WEST PALM BEACH, September
11: ION Media Networks has secured the rights to air the NFL Game of the
Week
, from NFL Films, beginning
September 15 at 6 p.m.

NFL Game of the Week is a one-hour program showcasing the best game from
each week from the 17-week regular season. It serves to tell the story of the
game that viewers didn’t see in the original broadcast, including pre-game and
post-game commentary, previously unheard sideline sounds from players and
coaches, as well as specially-shot game footage in a wide variety of angles.
NFL Films’ president, Steve Sabol, will continue to host the series, which
premiered in syndication in 1965 and has aired on NFL Network since 2003.

As part of its agreement
with the NFL, ION has also bagged the rights to air a new series from NFL
Films, Stories of the NFL,
which takes a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of the players off the field.
The first season of 21 half-hour episodes will begin airing on ION Television
in February 2008.
