WEST HOLLYWOOD: Shankly International Distribution has sold its rock-climbing adventure series First Ascent, co-produced by National Geographic Channels International, into more than eight new territories.

BBC Scandinavia signed on to broadcast the show in Scandinavia and Poland. Extreme Channel in the U.K. also went for First Ascent. Further deals include Red Bull Media for German free TV and DR HD channel for Denmark. The series is currently airing throughout Asia, Latin America and the Middle East on National Geographic’s Adventure Channel. First Ascent spotlights expert mountaineers, who push their vertical skills to the limit.

“We couldn’t be happier with the success of First Ascent,” said Leon Logothetis, the CEO of Shankly International Distribution. “We knew buyers would spark to the series, but 100 countries is beyond our wildest expectations.”
