International Academy Announces News, Current Affairs Nominees

NEW YORK, August 21: The nominations were announced today
for the news and current affairs categories for the 2007 International Emmy
Awards, with first-time nods for Hong Kong, Romania, Russia and the
Philippines.

Winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Sheraton New
York Hotel & Towers in New York City on September 24, 2007, alongside the
American news and documentary Emmy Awards.

This is the first time that programs from Romania and the
Philippines have secured International Emmy nominations, and the first time
that programs from Hong Kong and Russia were nominated in the news category.

Bruce L. Paisner, the president and CEO of The International
Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and president of Hearst
Entertainment, commented: “The 2007 nominees are testimony to the diversity of
international television news organizations which now reach a high standard of
excellence.”
