Intact Preps Three New Romanian Nets

BUCHAREST, January 24: Romania’s Intact Media Group, whose
bouquet of stations already includes Antena
1 and Euforia
Lifestyle TV, has received licenses from the National Audiovisual Council
(CNA) to launch three new channels, focusing on sports, music and financial
news.

Arena TV Sport will feature sports information and
entertainment, with a grid that consists of 70 percent local productions and 30
percent acquisitions. There will be news every hour and a range of Romanian
sports events.

Top TV is a music channel with a 60/40 original productions
to acquisitions ratio. It is being positioned as a youth lifestyle channel and
aims to be highly interactive.

Business TV will feature financial news, almost entirely
produced in house (90 percent).

The Voiculescu Family, owner of Intact Media Group, will
invest approximately 100 millions euro in the three new niche channels. The
company currently operates five stations—Antena 1, Antena 2, Antena 3,
Euforia Lifestyle TV, Antena International—as well as radio assets, a
production company and several newspapers and magazines.
