Infinity Media Sets Up New TV Division

LOS ANGELES: Infinity Media is expanding its operations with the launch of an in-house TV division, Infinity TV, to develop both scripted and nonscripted material.

Infinity TV will spearhead the development and production of a wide range of reality-based programming, scripted series, specials, sitcoms and TV movies. The company already identified several projects that will be introduced in the marketplace shortly.

The new TV division will be run by Paul Pender, who has developed dramas and reality shows in the U.K. for both the BBC and ITV.

Infinity Media is a multi-national entertainment company that specializes in the development, production and financing of high-quality, commercially-driven feature films. The company also maintains offices in Vancouver and Düsseldorf.

Michael Ohoven, the CEO of Infinity Media who has also produced more than 20 Hollywood features, said: “Television is the logical next step for our company. We already have great relationships all across town through the features we’ve made and now we feel ready to expand those relationships into the television arena.”

Pender commented: “The Infinity TV division will be writer-friendly, because in TV—even so-called reality television—it’s all about the writing and the structure. The emphasis of Infinity’s TV division will of course be on entertainment, but Michael has a strong social commitment and a few of the projects we are developing have strong social relevance appropriate to these challenging times.”
