Immelt Hails “Turnaround” at NBC

NEW YORK, January 22: Announcing GE’s financial results for
2006, the company’s chairman and CEO, Jeff Immelt, noted the “turnaround” at
NBC Universal, where revenues for the year were up 10 percent to $16.2 billion.

While revenues were up for the year, the division still saw
its segment profit drop 6 percent to $2.9 billion. Revenues for the fourth
quarter were flat with a gain of just 1 percent to $4.2 billion. Quarterly
profit however was up 5 percent to $841 million.

For the year, GE’s revenues were up 10 percent to $163.4
billion, and profit more than doubled to $6.58 billion.

“NBC Universal’s turnaround is advancing,” Immelt said.
