LOS ANGELES: The new ten-part docu-comedy Rhett & Link: Commercial Kings, based on the web series I Love Local Commercials, is to launch on IFC on June 24.

The show follows lifelong best friends Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal as they travel the U.S. making local commercials for small businesses. In each episode, the pair will experience the business first-hand to understand the challenges and opportunities faced by the owners. This hands-on experience, combined with their own special brand of market research, will serve as the creative inspiration behind an attention-grabbing, out-of-the-box concept for the local commercial. The pair then cast, direct and shoot each commercial using local talent and resources.

IFC is launching the show on June 24 at 10 p.m. During the premiere of each episode, Rhett and Link will be tweeting live with fans. Rhett and Link will be streaming live on IFC.com and interacting with fans during the encore episode premiere every Friday from 10:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

"We started producing local commercials because we felt a kinship with these homegrown businesses that make local communities unique," said McLaughlin.

"In a world of huge retailers and chains, these smaller businesses don’t have the flashy marketing budgets or access to the resources to draw attention to themselves through advertising," added Neal.
