IDW Entertainment Launches Digital Studio

IDW Entertainment, which counts among its slate Wynonna Earp and Locke and Key, is launching a new content development, production, distribution and engagement initiative aimed at connecting with the “geek culture” audience.

The IDW Digital Studio will be working on original, on-demand entertainment across digital media networks. The digital studio will focus on creating, managing and delivering original content and fan engagement services for all current and next-generation digital platforms with a primary focus on building franchises. This includes digital content based on the library of IDW properties, including Wynonna Earp, as well as new projects with creative talent and burgeoning media companies. The studio’s offerings will include episodic video, animation, short-form social content, digital comics, interactive content, mobile games, features, live events and daily fan-centric content.

IDW Entertainment President David Ozer explained, “People are consuming media differently and have very diverse expectations for their entertainment experiences than they did just a few years ago. With IDW Digital Studios, we believe we can deliver an entertainment experience that speaks to today’s sophisticated audiences, introduces truly fresh and creative talent and concepts to the marketplace and then makes that resulting content available on the platforms that make the most sense for that content.”
