Iambic Launches Two New Divisions

BRISTOL: Iambic Media, led by former DCD Media CEO Chris Hunt, has launched two new divisions: Iambic Entertainment and Iambic Scotland.

Iain Thompson has been appointed creative director for Iambic Entertainment, headquartered in London. Thompson’s credits include producing and directing programming such as Paris Hilton’s BFF, I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and The Parent Trap, as well as a number of one-offs. Iambic Entertainment will focus on factual entertainment, factual and entertainment.

Iambic Scotland follows on the company’s recent acquisition of Muckrach Media. Iambic Scotland will extend the areas of arts and cultural programming, particularly in Scotland. This division will be led by former Muckrach owners Andy Picheta and Rebecca Ferrand.

Hunt said: "These are heady times for Iambic. We are delighted to be joined by two first-rate teams, both led by great talents whom we have known for several years and who make an excellent fit with our existing operations. Iambic has bucked the trend by having a couple of very successful years, and these developments will increase our range of output and create exciting opportunities."

Thompson added: "I’ve a huge respect for Chris and his success in both film and TV production and I’m excited we have found a way to work together on new fact-ent projects in this ever changing climate. Together with our established relationships I am confident we can create unique productions that put talent at the core."

Picheta commented, “As part of the Iambic group we can now bring top flight talent to Scottish productions, enabling us to make a positive contribution to the development of TV production in the Highlands. We also gain clout to pitch suitable local and regional projects at a meaningful level.”
