HSM Delivers More Than One Million Viewers in the U.K.

LONDON, September 25: The
premiere of High School Musical
on Disney Channel UK on Friday shored up more than 1 million viewers,
delivering a 12.3-percent share of kids’ aged 4 to 15 over its four telecasts
on Disney Channel and Disney Channel+1.

The movie's strong ratings
follow Disney Channel UK's transition from a premium to basic service, becoming
part of the Kids Mix digital package on BSkyB, the Family Package on NTL and
Supreme on Telewest.

Channel UK, Scandinavia and Middle East, noted, "The High School
Musical
sensation has reached the
U.K. and we're thrilled that kids, tweens and families have connected with this
compelling story and its characters, music and choreography."

The initial British
broadcast at 6 p.m. was watched
by an average 23.1-percet share of the kids aged 4-15, making it the number-one
movie of the year against all channels in multichannel homes. Disney Channel UK
is the only cable and satellite channel to have a program in the Top 20.

Among kids 4-15, the
premiere telecast was also number-one in its timeslot; the numner-one Disney
Channel Original Movie ever; and the number-one Disney Channel premiere since
the channel's transition to basic. Among all viewers, the premiere telecast was

In addition, the High
School Musical
soundtrack from
Walt Disney Records/EMI was released in the UK. on September 18 and, as of
September 25, is the number-two selling album overall on the iTunes Music Store
and the number-three selling album on Amazon.co.uk.

The High School Musical online campaign on www.DisneyChannel.co.uk has generated
over 1.5 million page views so far.
