Horror Channel to Launch in Italy

LONDON: The Chello Zone-owned Horror Channel is to debut on September 6 in Italy on Sky Italia, replacing the Fantasy channel.

The channel will feature a Best of British Horror Night for the premiere, and a night of Rob Zombie’s cult hit movies House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects on Saturday, September 10. The channel will air movies such as Sorority Row and the Canadian TV series ReGenesis, as well as exclusive footage from events like FrightFest in London.

“We are pleased to announce the arrival of Horror Channel in the Italian television market, and offer a unique channel that showcases the horror genre,” said Louise Cottrell, the VP affiliate sales for Chello Zone. “Horror Channel has already proved to be a great success in the U.K. and we are confident that it will rapidly secure a loyal fan base in Italy.”

The Horror Channel originally launched in the U.K. in May 2004 and was picked up by Chello Zone in 2005.
