HIT Appoints New Publishing Partners for Rainbow Magic

LONDON, October 4: HIT Entertainment has appointed two new
publishing partners for its recently acquired girl-skewing property Rainbow
Magic
, and offered a first look at the
upcoming television series based on the property at the Brand Licensing show.

HIT has granted Panini the rights for a Rainbow Magic sticker album, due for release in fall/winter 2008
and Hachette has been awarded the rights for Rainbow Magic Part Works.

Slated for broadcast in fall/winter 2009, the television
series follows the magical adventures of Kirsty and Rachel as they continue to
thwart the attempts by Jack Frost to dominate Fairyland. HIT unveiled a
30-second preview of the series in 2-D animation at the Brand Licensing show.
The TV show is based on the successful series of books by Daisy Meadows, which
have sold nearly 15 million copies and translated into more than 20 languages
worldwide. Rainbow Magic is the second highest-selling children’s author in the
U.K., beaten only by JK Rowling.

HIT will soon be unveiling a new creative look for Rainbow
Magic
, with the launch of a new logo and
style guide to reflect the upcoming television series.

Peter Byrne, the executive VP of worldwide consumer products
at HIT Entertainment, commented: “Rainbow Magic represents an enormous licensing opportunity across our entire
business from television to consumer products, live events, publishing and home
entertainment. We are thrilled to be working with Hachette and Panini on
exciting new formats for the Rainbow Magic brand.”
