NEW YORK: A&E Television Networks (AETN) has confirmed Nancy Dubuc‘s long-rumored appointment as president and general manager of Lifetime Networks, adding to her current responsibility for the HISTORY brands.

In her new post, effective May 1, Dubuc succeeds Andrea Wong, who announced her exit in February, just a few months after Lifetime was acquired by AETN. Dubuc reports to Abbe Raven, AETN’s president and CEO, as she oversees the Lifetime and History brands’ strategic planning, programming, consumer marketing, publicity and brand development.

“Nancy is one of the most dynamic executives working in television," Raven said. "Her track record of success by focusing on a brand’s target audience and creating programming for them is extraordinary. Nancy has great respect for the power of the Lifetime brand and I am confident she will lead the terrific team there to new heights.”

“I am incredibly honored to now lead the Lifetime team,” Dubuc said. “Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network are two of the most powerful and evocative brands on the media landscape. I am excited for the challenge to explore the unlimited potential of programming for women.”

Dubuc has overseen tremendous ratings gains in her tenure at HISTORY as president and general manager. She was previously senior VP of programming at A&E Network, which she joined in March 2003 as VP of non-fiction and alternative programming.
