HISTORY & HISTORY HD Continue to Expand Across Central Europe

NEW YORK/LONDON: HISTORY and HISTORY HD will launch Czech-language services on UPC in the Czech and Slovak Republics, adding to the current roster of Central European territories carrying the channels that includes, among others, Poland, Hungary, Romania and Serbia.

This month, the standard-definition service for HISTORY will launch in digital EBT in the Czech Republic, with HISTORY HD launching in October. Slovakia will launch HISTORY HD this month, followed by the standard-definition service of HISTORY in digital EBT in October. HISTORY HD will broadcast 100 percent HD content, and will offer a separate schedule from the standard-definition service.

Besides UPC, HISTORY currently operates in the Czech Republic and Slovakia on Skylink, Self Servis and Smart Comp, while HISTORY HD is offered through Skylink, Smart Comp, Mattes and BKS Capital Partners. The channels are also offered in Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia and Montenegro.
