NEW YORK/AMSTERDAM: AMC Studios has bolstered its executive team, naming Mark Dee-Shapland to the newly created position of head of content sales.

In this role, Dee-Shapland is charged with worldwide content sales initiatives for all off-network distribution of AMC Networks-owned programming. Based in Amsterdam, he will report to Valerie Cabrera, the senior VP of distribution for AMC Studios. Prior to joining AMC Studios, Dee-Shapland held several positions at Off the Fence. He most recently served as VP of sales and co-production.

“Mark will be an important addition to our sales team, headed by Valerie Cabrera, as AMC Studios continues to expand the slate of shows that we produce and own,” said Rick Olshansky and Stefan Reinhardt, co-heads of AMC Studios. “He is a seasoned executive with an impressive track record who will help drive our international sales business and bring AMC Studios content to buyers around the world.”

Heading into MIPTV, the studio will be focused on sales from across the AMC Networks portfolio, including The Terror, Lodge 49, Brockmire, Stan Against Evil, Documentary Now!, Robert Kirkman’s Heroes and Villains of Comic Books, James Cameron’s Story of Science Fiction, Murder in the Heartland (working title) and Talking with Chris Hardwick.
