HD Version of TV3+ Launches

STOCKHOLM: TV3+HD, the high-definition version of the Danish free-TV channel TV3+, is launching on Viasat’s pay-TV platform in Denmark.

The first big event to be featured on the channel in true HD will be the Super Bowl on February 7. TV3+HD is available for Viasat’s satellite TV customers with an HD subscription and will also be distributed by third-party IPTV and cable networks. Other sports events to be shown on the channel include the Danish national soccer league, UEFA Champions League and NFL. Aside from sports, the channel also offers movies and series.

Kim Poder, the CEO of Viasat Demark, commented, “We are very happy to be able to launch an HD version of the popular TV3+ channel. With the huge amount of flat-screen televisions sold in recent years, access to HD TV channels is more relevant for our customers. But it is important to keep in mind that it’s not a question of quantity but quality. They want to experience their favorite channels, not inferior ones, in HD which is why we chose to add TV3+HD.”
