HBO Schedules Abu Ghraib Doc

NEW YORK, January 23: Ghosts of Abu Ghraib, an official selection at this year’s Sundance Film
Festival, is slated to air on HBO on February 22, exploring the treatment of
Iraqi prisoners by American soldiers.

Filmmaker Rory Kennedy (HBO’s Indian Point: Imagining the
Unimaginable
) looks beyond the headlines to
investigate the psychological and political context in which torture at the
Iraqi prison occurred. Airing at 9:30 p.m. on February 22, the film is an
official selection in the American Documentary Competition at the 2007 Sundance
Film Festival.

The documentary features the voices of Iraqi victims
(interviewed in Turkey) and guards directly involved in torture at the prison,
as well as a range of experts.
