HBO Picks Up Taxi to the Dark Side

NEW YORK, February 22: HBO
Documentary Films has acquired the U.S. pay-TV rights for the Academy
Award-nominated film Taxi to the Dark Side, which will debut on the premium network in September.

Written, directed and
produced by Alex Gibney, Taxi to the Dark Side explores the homicide of an innocent taxi driver at
the Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan. The film also exposes America’s
policy on detention and interrogation.

While HBO will debut Taxi
to the Dark Side
in September,
Investigation Discovery retains the rights to air the film on basic cable in
2009. Alex Gibney, Eva Orner and Susannah Shipman serve as the producers, with
Don Glascoff, Robert Johnson, Sidney Blumenthal, Jedd Wider and Todd Wider as
the executive producers.
