HBO Files Suit Against EchoStar

NEW YORK, January 24: According to an Associated Press
report, HBO has filed a lawsuit against EchoStar Communications Corp., which
operates the DISH Network DTH platform, seeking $90 million in unpaid license
fees.

The report notes that the suit was filed earlier this month,
alleging that the platform frequently fails to pay its license fees on time.
HBO also alleges that the company underpaid license fees or calculated fees
improperly. The late fees amount to $50 million, while the miscalculated clocks
in at $40 million.
