HBO Adds Second Signature Feed in Hong Kong

HONG KONG, July 31: HBO Asia has reached a deal with the
broadband platform now TV to launch a time-shifted feed of its HBO Signature
channel in Hong Kong that will feature “completely unedited programming,” the company said.

HBO
Signature PLUS 1 will follow the same program line-up as that of HBO Signature
but will be time shifted by an hour, and will broadcast titles as they
originally aired in the U.S. market. “HBO’s strong partnership with PCCW’s now
TV provides Hong Kong viewers with a much broader choice and flexibility in
programming,” said Jonathan Spink, the CEO of HBO Asia. “HBO Signature PLUS 1
takes this a step further by offering something that is not available on any other
local television station—the ability to access a program how it was
intended to be shown in the first place. HBO Signature PLUS 1 gives viewers an
even greater spectrum of entertainment allowing subscribers to see world-class,
award-winning movies, series and HBO Original Productions as they are seen and
enjoyed by audiences in the U.S.”

In Hong
Kong, the HBO channels are exclusively available on now TV, which, with some
500,000 customers, is billed as one of the world’s most successful IPTV
platforms.
