Haven Slated for July Premiere on Syfy, Showcase

LOS ANGELES/TORONTO: E1 Entertainment’s new drama series Haven has begun production in Nova Scotia and is set for a premiere in the U.S. on Syfy on July 9, to be followed by a launch on July 12 on Showcase in Canada.

Based on the Stephen King novella The Colorado Kid, Haven stars Emily Rose (Jericho, Brothers and Sisters) as an FBI agent who finds herself in the center of a small town where the people are affected by a range of supernatural afflictions. Adam Kane (The Mentalist, Heroes, Pushing Daisies) will direct the pilot, which was written by Sam Ernst and Jim Dunn (The Dead Zone).

The creative team behind Haven includes showrunner Scott Shepherd (Tru Calling, The Dead Zone), along with E1 Entertainment’s John Morayniss (Hung, Rookie Blue), Noreen Halpern (Hung, Rookie Blue), Laszlo Barna (The Bridge, Da Vinci’s Inquest) and Michael Rosenberg (Hung, The Riches) as well as his partners, executive producers Lloyd Segan and Shawn Piller (The Dead Zone, Wildfire, Greek).
