LOS ANGELES: Hasbro Studios and Italy’s Mediaset have signed an overall programming agreement for shows such as G.I. Joe Renegades and Pound Puppies, along with entering into a licensing deal for series-related merchandise.

Mediaset is to broadcast Hasbro’s Transformers Prime, My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, G.I. Joe Renegades, The Adventures of Chuck and Friends and Pound Puppies across its multiple channels. The deal between the two companies also sees Mediaset serving as Hasbro’s exclusive licensing agent for merchandise in the Italian market related to the five flagship programs. The licensing pact further includes Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit and Littlest Pet Shop brands. The agreement takes effect in the fourth quarter of 2011.

“Mediaset is Italy’s leading media group and the perfect strategic partner for us in this key territory,” said Hasbro Studios’ president, Stephen Davis. “We look forward to a long and productive relationship.”
