Haber Takes Video Game Awards International

PALISADES PARK: Alfred Haber Distribution, Inc. (AHDI) has taken on the exclusive international distribution rights for the 2009 Video Game Awards, produced by and aired on Spike TV.

The Video Game Awards, which will air in December, have been around for seven years. This is the first time that the awards will be offered internationally, however. The Video Game Awards pay tribute to outstanding achievements of games, designers, animation, breakthrough technology, music and performances of the past year in the world of video games. The show will also provide a look at some of the most anticipated new games coming to the market.

“Gaming is as universal a language as music and film and we’re thrilled to bring the biggest event in video games to fans around the world,” said Casey Patterson, the senior VP of talent development, event production and studio relations at Spike TV and TV Land and executive producer of the VGA Awards.

“With the game industry enjoying a 26 percent increase in 2008, the VGAs is the right awards show at the right time,” commented Alfred Haber, the founder of AHDI. “The VGAs reaches a young, hip audience that spends billions of dollars a year on gaming products and merchandise and we are delighted to have been chosen as the first and only company to offer this two-hour special internationally.”
