Granada Shores Up Eastern Europe Sales

LONDON, August 2: Granada International has sold more than
400 hours of drama programming to broadcasters in Eastern Europe, including a
substantial package going to TVP1 in Poland.

A wide range of dramas are included in the deal with TVP1,
including Mansfield Park, Emma and Northanger Abbey from the recently released Jane Austen
Collection
; Emmy 2007 nominee Prime
Suspect: The Final Act
; Dracula; Ghostboat and Love Lies Bleeding. Thirteen
Hollywood TV movies were also sold to TVP1, including Wildfires, The Party
Never Stops
and A Valentine Carol and feature films such as Red Shoes, Black Narcissus, On Golden Pond and The African Queen.

Romanian commercial broadcaster ProTV, which recently
acquired Emmerdale and Dracula
from Granada, has taken on a further slate
of drama programming. This includes all seasons of the Prime Suspect series, every season of Agatha Christie’s
Poirot
and Agatha Christie’s
Marple
and three titles from the Jane
Austen
Collection.

In
addition, STV in Slovakia has purchased new drama titles that were launched at
MIPTV, including Instinct and Durham County and the Jane Austen titles, as well as all seasons of Inspector Morse and Hollywood TV movies such as Swarm, The Party Never Stops and Write and Wrong.

Schilling, the sales executive at Granada International responsible for Eastern

Eastern Europe.”
