Granada Sells HD Programming Package into Taiwan

HONG KONG, May 6: Granada International has sold more than
300 hours of high-definition programming to Chunghwa Telecom in Taiwan, which
will be available through the company’s Multimedia On-Demand (MOD) IPTV-VOD service.

Titles included in the deal are My Boy Jack, Murdoch Mysteries, Durham County, Ballet Shoes, Planet
Science, Brainiac, The Fabulous Baker Boys, Bugsy Malone and three seasons of Agatha Christie’s Poirot, among others.

Chao Min, the
director of the digital content development department at Chunghwa Telecom,
said, “Granada International’s programming is so diverse and has strong appeal
across all age groups. We are sure that their high-definition programming will
appeal to our many subscribers throughout Taiwan.”

James
Ross, Granada International’s Hong Kong-based regional director, added, “We
are very pleased to be working with Chunghwa Telecom, which has acquired a
significant number of our high-quality high-definition shows for its ‘MOD’
service. Our wide-ranging content is always in demand and this is one of many
similar deals that we will conclude with platform providers in the region in
the coming months.”
