Granada Re-Ups Output Deal with SBS

CANNES, April 8: Granada
International has secured a new three-year renewal of its output deal with SBS
Broadcasting, with the expanded agreement including a significant commitment to
daytime programming.

Daytime
programming included in the deal will be selected from Granada’s drama and
entertainment series suitable for this time period. In addition to factual
entertainment programs like Hell’s Kitchen USA and Trinny & Susannah Undress, the deal includes a format license to
create a local version of Granada’s Come Dine With Me for Net 5, plus taped series Property
Developing Abroad
for
Channel SBS 6 and the science show Brainiac: Science Abuse, for broadcast on Veronica.

Andre Renaud,
the sales executive for Granada International who brokered the deal, commented,
“I am very pleased that our relationship with SBS is continuing to grow. Our
success with long-running, award-winning drama Emmerdale and Coronation Street and stripped factual programming such
as 60 Minute Makeover
provides a one-stop shop for broadcasters seeking a mix of stand out titles for
their daytime schedules.”

Rozan Hamaker,
the head of acquisitions for SBS Broadcasting Netherlands, added, “I am
delighted to extend our current output deal with Granada International. Granada
is one of the leading companies worldwide in factual entertainment and with
this deal we are able to secure these highly valued shows on our channels.”
