Beyond Secures BBC Deal on Mythbusters

SYDNEY/LONDON, July 25: The BBC has picked up the science
series Mythbusters from Beyond
Distribution for launch on BBC Two this week.

Produced by Beyond Productions,
the 71×1-hour show features two Hollywood special effects experts testing
universal “urban myths”—if you can you save yourself by jumping up if
your elevator suddenly falls, and how long it actually takes to find a needle
in a haystack, among others.

Sarah Hargreaves, the creative
director for BBC Specialist Features and Business noted, “Mythbusters is a clever series, it's very entertaining but it also
offers real content, which is why it's such a good fit for the BBC. We think it
will appeal to a pre-watershed audience on BBC Two, our innovative mainstream
channel which recently played host to another great Australian import, Kath
and Kim
.”
