Globo to Shoot Novela in India

SÃO PAULO, December 15: Jaipur, the capital city of the Indian state of Rajasthan, and Agra, home to the Taj Mahal, are among the backdrops for the new TV Globo telenovela Caminho das Índias, which launches in Brazil in January.

The show, a key offering from Globo TV International, features Tony Ramos, Lima Duarte and Juliana Paes, who left Brazil for India last month. Globo has taken almost 40 people from its telenovela team to India, where the crew is working with the local outfit Stratum.

"As well as contributing to the quality of our productions, this is an excellent way to reinforce the concept of universality in our telenovelas, that are among some of the best in the world, and are recognized for the high technical and artistic level with which they are produced," said Raphael Corrêa Netto, the director of international sales at Globo TV International.
