Globo Signs Up MediaCorp for India: A Love Story

SÃO PAULO: Globo TV International has sold India: A Love Story to MediaCorp for its Channel 5 service in Singapore.

Written by Glória Perez, who also penned The Clone, India: A Love Story is a drama that features the differences between Brazilian and Indian cultures, demonstrating that love can overcome any obstacle. The novela received an International Emmy Award in 2009, and with a budget of some $50 million is considered one of the most expensive productions in the history of TV Globo.

The cast features Brazilian stars such as Juliana Paes (The Favorite), Rodrigo Lombardi (Forbidden Desire), Tony Ramos (Family Ties), Lima Duarte (Shades of Sin), Cléo Pires (America) and Vera Fischer (Two Faces).
