SÃO PAULO: Honduran broadcaster Channel 11 has picked up the rights to the telenovela Paradise City from Globo TV International.

The network is slated to launch the show at the beginning of 2011. Channel 11’s sister network, Channel 12, has already fared well with other Globo novelas, such as Cabocla.

Paradise City has notched up slots across Latin America, including in Argentina (Belle Art), Chile (La Red), Costa Rica (Teletica), Bolivia (Unitel), Cuba (RTV Comercial), El Salvador (Canal 2), Ecuador (Ecuavisa), Paraguay (Cerro Corá), Peru (Belleville) and Uruguay (Teledoce). It is a remake of a 1982 telenovela by Benedito Ruy Barbosa.
