SÃO PAULO: Globo TV International has entered into a deal with Chello Zone for programming to air on China’s CCTV.

The deal includes the series Woman, which follows the professional and personal lives of two very different doctors working in a Rio de Janeiro women’s clinic. Also to air is Seven Women, set in 1835 Brazil during a Civil War. The titles will broadcast on the drama channel CCTV-8 as part of the Everyday Jiayi daily prime-time programming block.

"This is the first time our programming will be broadcast on the government-owned channel and we’re confident that with the good performance of our program we’ll be able to grow and consolidate this partnership," said Raphael Corrêa Netto, the head of international sales. "We consider this a landmark deal to introduce our programming to this culturally unique and vast territory."

Woman and Seven Women are indicative of the quality programming we are securing for the Everyday Jiayi’s drama lineup on CCTV-8,” added Chello Zone’s Adam Robinson. “I am sure both series will be well received by our viewers in China. I am also delighted to be further establishing our partnership with Globo TV International.”
