Global Television Unveils New Original Drama

TORONTO, December 21: Global Television will premiere The
Guard
, a Canadian-produced original drama
series, on January 22, 2008.

The 13-part, one-hour action series follows four members of
the Canadian Coastguard’s Search and Rescue team, and their daily battles in
and out of the water. The series was shot in the wilderness of Squamish,
British Columbia, and stars Steve Bacic, Jeremy Guilbaut, Zoie Palmer and
Claudette Mink. JAG’s David James Elliot
will guest star regularly as David Nelson, a recurring character on the series.
The Guard will premiere at 10
p.m., following the prime-time broadcast of House.

amazing, sexy drama series, a guaranteed adrenaline rush for thrill seekers,”
said Christine Shipton, the VP of original production at Global Television.
“Series creator Raymond Storey expertly captures the complex nature of each of
