GlassBOX Re-Launches Travel+Escape Channel

TORONTO: GlassBOX Television is re-launching its Travel+Escape channel on November 1 to feature new programming in prime time and is offering a free three-month preview through January 31, 2012.

 

Travel+Escape has a new logo and look developed by Mighty, inspired by iconic travel symbols such as retro luggage tags. The channel’s enhanced schedule offers a range of top-rated travel- and adventure-themed series. Highlights include Piers Morgan On…, which features hotspots in a VIP experience; Ghost Adventures, where the scariest places in the world are investigated; Ian Wright: Out of Bounds, which features the globe-trekker’s travels to all corners of the earth; and the sports/travel series Dhani Tackles the Globe, hosted by NFL linebacker Dhani Jones.
 
Commissioned series featured include Chefs Run Wild, in which three chefs from Winnipeg search for edible explorations in Asia;Paddling Bryans, offering a journey across North America; and Destination Fear, a co-production with Travel Channel U.S., featuring hidden cameras and improv specialists who scare unsuspecting travellers in some of North America’s most haunted destinations. Operation Unplugged sees technology-obsessed Canadians in a month long challenge-based adventure through National Parks across Canada.
