German Deal on Southern Star’s The Sea Princesses

SYDNEY, March 8: ARD and KI.KA in Germany have acquired
Southern Star’s new 52-part animated series The Sea Princesses through Degeto Film.

Southern Star International will launch the series at this
year’s MIPTV, with Seven Network already on board as the broadcast partner in
Australia.

Currently in production by Southern Star Entertainment and
Neptuno Films Production in association with Flamma Films, The Sea
Princesses
focuses on the fun and
adventures of a group of young princesses who live under the sea, led by
Polvina (The Octopus Princess), Ester (The Starfish Princess) and Tubarina (The
Shark Princess). The series is based on the original book series Princesas
do Mar
created by Brazilian author Fabio
Yabu. Southern Star Entertainment and Neptuno Films jointly funded

and look forward to introducing our audiences to the underwater world of
Polvina, Ester and Tubarina,” said Barbara Uecker, the head of
family-lifestyle-nature programs at ARD/HR (ARD/Hessischer Rundfunk) Germany.
