FremantleMedia Asia CEO to Leave Company

LONDON: After 24 years at FremantleMedia Asia, Patrick Schult is exiting his role as CEO.

Schult says he will pursue new interests and a different career path, though he will work with FremantleMedia to ensure the smooth transition to a new topper. Schult joined Grundy Television in Australia in 1987, and went on to hold a variety of senior roles across Asia, South Africa and Southern Europe. He become director of operations for Asia in 2004, and was promoted to CEO two years later.

Simon Spalding, the regional CEO for Europe and the Asia Pacific at FremantleMedia, said: “Patrick has made very significant contributions to the business, most recently building our presence in Asia, and establishing FremantleMedia as the foremost production company in the region. We wish him well for the future.”

Schult added: "This has been a very difficult decision given all the wonderful people at FremantleMedia I have worked with over the years.  The media industry in Asia is changing in profound ways and I look forward to playing a part in its future development."
