France 24 Celebrates Anniversary with New Mobile, Internet Content

PARIS, December 5: To celebrate its first anniversary, the
French international news channel France 24 will launch new Internet and mobile
content.

France 24 is making its content available on demand on
mobile platforms in three languages. The channel’s latest bulletins, weather
forecasts, economic reports and interviews will be accessible throughout the
world on all telephones, in either video or audio depending on the model. A
mobile trilingual website, updated 24/7, will also be accessible via the
mobile.france24.com.

In another mobile development, the channel has inked a
worldwide agreement with Nokia to offer its main broadcasts via video-on-demand
on the company’s new generation of mobile phones.

As part of its expanded Internet offerings, France 24 will
also launch a new website called The Observers (Les Observateurs). Located at observers.france24.com, the goal of the
site is to increase the coverage of international news through the direct
reporting of “observers” who are at the heart of events around the globe.
France 24’s journalists will select video, text or photo content generated by
Internet users throughout the world to appear on the site.

Furthermore, as previously announced, on December 6, the
network will broadcast 24 hours of programming in Arabic for the first time.

France 24’s CEO, Alain de Pouzilhac, commented: “For its
first anniversary, nothing could be better than to develop France 24 in these
two directions: first, to enable Arabic speakers to be given parity with
English and French speakers. We are attached to this part of the world and
wanted to show our recognition in this way. Secondly, to focus on the fantastic
development of technology and on Internet expertise in order to strengthen the
modern and interactive side of France 24. However, after one year, what I am
most proud of is the amazing performance of the men and women of France 24. We
owe our success to them.”
