FOX Cuts Saturday-Morning Cartoons

LOS
ANGELES, November 25: Following FOX's terminated deal with 4Kids Entertainment,
the network has closed down its Saturday-morning block of cartoons, and has
agreed to sell part of its schedule to producers of infomercials.

The New York Times reports that FOX
executives said that children's programming was simply no longer viable on
network television, due in large part to the competition from cable channels.
FOX is giving two hours of Saturday time back to its affiliated stations.
