Former Galakids Exec joins Tribal Nova

MONTREAL, May 8: Tribal
Nova has appointed Louis Fournier as its VP of business development, in charge
of content acquisition and co-productions for KidStudio, the company’s online
interactive entertainment platform aimed at 3- to 12-year-olds.

In his new role, Fournier
will also develop new business opportunities with animation producers,
broadcasters and other companies involved in the children’s entertainment
industry.

Fournier was most recently
the president of Galakids, a division of Galafilm, where he oversaw the
development of several kids’ television series. He also worked at CINAR, most
recently as the VP of sales and distribution. He was instrumental in marketing
award-winning international kids’ properties such as Arthur, Caillou and Mona the Vampire.
As the president of the youth and animation unit at TVA International from 2000
to 2001, Fournier served as the executive producer for titles like Popular
Mechanics for Kids
, Xcalibur and Bellflower Bunnies, among others.
