CANNES: The first project to come out of the recently announced partnership between FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) and Animation Collective is Black Dawn, a live-action and animated series.

Black Dawn, created by Animation Collective CEO Larry Schwarz, is a science fiction action-adventure series about a 16-year-old’s search for his lost father. As well as co-producing, FME will have exclusive worldwide distribution, home entertainment and licensing rights to the series.

“As soon as we heard the pitch for Black Dawn we knew it would be a perfect addition to our global portfolio,” said Sander Schwartz, the president of kids and family entertainment at FME. “Larry has created funny, aspirational characters and thrown them into a unique, high-octane scenario we think will become appointment viewing for kids. We hope this is the first of many original projects we will produce with Larry and the team at Animation Collective.”

Schwarz added, “Black Dawn is a thrilling adventure with tremendous appeal and potential. FremantleMedia is an industry leader in both the development and distribution of quality programming worldwide, and we are confident their excellent relationships will help take Black Dawn to the next level.”
