FIVER Unveils New Programming

LONDON, April 11:
Continuing the company’s rebranding initiative of all of its digital channels,
U.K. broadcaster Five has unveiled several new series to join the programming
slate at FIVER, formerly known as Five Life.

The latest slew of
programming for the channel will see the fourth season of Five’s human-interest
series Hidden Lives added to
the lineup, alongside U.S. acquisitions Intervention, Ocean Force and The Shot.
Additionally, Hotel Inspector Unseen has been commissioned exclusively for FIVER.

The 5×1-hour documentary
series Human Lives explores
real-life stories of unusual people around the world, including wedding
addicts, women who sweat profusely, serial hoarders, nudists and more.

Acquired from the U.S.,
the five hour-long episodes of Intervention document people whose lives are in crisis due to a
dependency on drugs or other addictive issues. The Shot, meanwhile, follows ten amateur photographers
given the chance to live out their wildest fantasies and become the next great
fashion photographer. Also from the U.S., Ocean Force follows lifeguards and coastal police as they
handle drunken brawls and open-water rescues, among others.

In the
exclusively-commissioned six-part spin-off of The Hotel Inspector, Hotel Inspector Unseen, viewers delve deeper into failing hotels, going
beyond the shabby rooms and the shoddy service to find out why they need to be
rescued from going under. With exclusive video diary footage, Hotel
Inspector Unseen
reveals the
trials and tribulations as the hotels and the hotel owners are transformed. The
series is produced for the channel by Twofour Production.

“I’m delighted to be able
to announce this exciting new lineup of commissions and acquisitions for
FIVER,” said Hannah Barnes, the director of programs for FIVER and Five US.
“Each one is a brilliant addition to the refreshed FIVER schedule.”
