FishBowl Hires New Comedy Development Exec

LOS ANGELES: FishBowl Worldwide Media has named Shaleen Desai the senior VP of comedy development, a newly created position.

Desai will be responsible for developing comedy across all platforms, including scripted franchises for television and digital distribution. He will report to Susan Levison, the executive VP of creative affairs.

Prior to this, Desai was the VP of programming for BBC Worldwide Productions, where he developed unscripted programs for the U.S. Before this, he was the VP of development for fox21, where he developed comedy, drama and reality programs for the studio.

“We continue to be very aggressive in creating compelling content across television and digital media,” Levison said. “Shaleen’s extensive development experience and his approach to identifying unique and influential projects perfectly complement the FishBowl culture as we continue to expand our slate of programming.”
