CANNES: Fireworks International has licensed to ABC TV in Australia the detective drama Republic of Doyle and the multiplatform thriller Girl Number 9.

The Australian pubcaster opted for season one of Republic of Doyle, the CBC Canada drama that was recently renewed for a second season; and the 6×5-minute Girl Number 9. This comes on the heels of ABC acquiring a host of other content from Fireworks, such as the third season of prime-time family drama series Heartland, the documentary special I Know What I Saw, and multiplatform content such as Valemont and Riese.

Saralo MacGregor, executive VP of worldwide distribution at Fireworks International, commented, "The range of content ABC TV has acquired recently is a great example of the breadth of our programming catalogue, spanning leading drama and documentary titles alongside some of the most innovative multiplatform content available in today’s market.”
