Finalists Selected for In Toon with Tweens Animation Contest

TORONTO: Portfolio Entertainment has announced the top eight finalists for the In Toon with Tweens animation contest, selected from a pool of 72 entries based on the projects’ creativity and marketability.

The finalists are Jeff Young-Sterling and Ai Rei Dooh Tousignant, Feel the Noise; Ron Doucet, The Zerds; Jonathan Graef, Stitched High; Jim Bryson and Adam Jeffcoat, The Smart Class; Mike Shiell, The Fizzleflops Network; Kristin Shier, FABB; Chris Voigt, Ragemelon; and Glen Wyand, The Weird Files. A panel of judges—Carole Bonneau (TELETOON Canada), Marc Buhaj (Disney Channels EMEA), Rick Clodfelter (Cartoon Network), Jocelyn Hamilton (Corus Entertainment), Linda Simensky (PBS KIDS), Andra Sheffer (Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund) and Shari Cohen (Ontario Media Development Corporation)—will select the first and second place winners.

The first and second place prize winners will be announced in October during the Ottawa International Animation Festival. The first place prize package includes $7,500; a two-year development deal with Portfolio Entertainment; Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Premium Software; and Toon Boom’s Enterprise Solution, including Harmony and Storyboard Pro for one-year. The second place prizewinner receives $2,500; a one-year development agreement with Portfolio Entertainment; Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Premium Software plus the use of Toon Boom’s Enterprise Solution for six months. Both prizes include support from a Toon Boom expert. All eight finalists will also receive the use of Toon Boom’s Enterprise Solution with technical support for three months.
