NEW YORK: SPI International has revealed that four channels from the FilmBox brand are slated to launch on Sprint in Bulgaria, while eight are headed to OVY Network in Botswana.

Sprint subscribers in Bulgaria will soon have access to FilmBox HD and FilmBox Plus HD, which this month will begin airing such titles as La Delicatesse, Coco Before Channel, Chloe and The Fighter. The Sprint HD package will also include FightBox HD and DocuBox HD, which provide combat sports and documentary programming, respectively.

"Bulgaria is a very important market for us as we want to increase our presence in this country and grow the awareness of our channels among the Bulgarian TV viewers," stated Berk Uziyel, executive director of Filmbox International. "Both FilmBox HD and FilmBox Plus HD channels have been localized for Bulgaria so the local movie fans can now enjoy top quality cinema entertainment in their language."

Nikolai Bachovski, executive director of Sprint, noted: "With the increase in the number of channels we offer to our subscribers, we are giving them [an even] greater choice of entertainment. This is part of a series of pleasant surprises for our customers on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Sprint.

"We are also delighted to partner with Filmbox International, which—throughout their presence in the international market—have always shown to share our core values of the never-ending pursuit of both innovation and perfection. The partnership is of great importance to Sprint as we share SPI's commitment to being the best in its field and their dedication to creating outstanding services for our clients."

Over in Africa, Botswana's OVY Network will soon offer FilmBox, featuring popular American and European movies and TV series; FilmBox Arthouse, for fans of world cinema; FightBox HD; the action-packed Fast'nFunBox; DocuBox; the lifestyle-themed FashionBox HD; 360 TuneBox, a music channel; and Madscreenbox, which provides family-oriented games and entertainment.

"We are very committed to bringing top entertainment content from the world's best producers to TV viewers across the African continent," said Loni Farhi, SPI International's CEO and president. "Following our recent launch in Ghana we are glad to announce the cooperation with another partner in Africa—OVY Network in Botswana. It seems like this summer will be very busy with additional deals to come."

"As a new entrant in Botswana, our partnership with SPI brings a complete solution to our product," added George Kavwenje, CEO of OVY Network, which is about to launch a satellite DTH multi-channel platform in Botswana through its subsidiary OVYtv.
