Family Channel Ramps Up Disney On-Demand Offerings

TORONTO, May 6: Family Channel will debut the music-filled
Disney Channel original movie Camp Rock on
its on-demand service prior to the debut on its linear service, along with a
sneak peek of the first installment of the Disney Channel Games.

Camp Rock premieres
on Family OnDemand on June 17, followed by a launch on Family Channel on June
20. The program stars Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers, and is set in a
summer camp for aspiring rock stars.

Family OnDemand will also be offering the premiere episode
of Disney Channel Games on July 27, a
week prior to its debut on Family Channel, which begins a five-part run on
August 1. The mini-series divides Disney stars from around the world into teams
to compete in a series of contests.

"Sneak previews and unique opportunities are a big deal
for many people, but kids in particular love to see something first or be part
of an exclusive experience,” said Joe Tedesco, the VP and general manager of
Family Channel and Playhouse Disney. “Family OnDemand was designed for
value-added, exclusive experiences that complement the linear service. Program
premieres such as Camp Rock and Disney
Channel Games are the perfect use of this
platform. We've got a blockbuster lineup this summer, and we're excited to be
able to leverage Family OnDemand whenever possible to give kids and their
families the programming they want, when they want it, as often as they want
it."
