Extreme Sports Channel Adds Two New Series

LONDON, August 10: Liberty
Global’s Extreme Sports Channel has commissioned two new series for its lineup,
Euro Beach Soccer League and Streetball Extreme: Battle for Europe.

Both series are set to
start airing in September on Extreme’s five international feeds.

In Euro Beach Soccer
League
, sixteen teams will compete
in matches held in France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Austria, Greece, the
Netherlands and Poland. The U.K. production company Gun for Hire will produce
the six-part show, to be hosted by Radio 1 personality DJ Spoony and sports
commentator Natalie Pinkham.

James Dubern, Extreme’s
head of programming, said: “Beach soccer combines the most spectacular aspects
of football with awesome locations including a beach in the heart of the Alps!
The sport has a huge international following and we’re looking forward to
giving it the ‘Extreme treatment.’”

Streetball Extreme:
Battle for Europe
is an eight-part
series that follows the U.K.-based SBX team on a 12-day tour through Europe.
The seven SBX players will take on all-star local Streetball teams in
Amsterdam, Berlin, Warsaw, Krakow, Lyon, Barcelona, Lisbon and Paris. The
matches will be bracketed by freestyle demos, live DJs and MC battles in
picturesque European locations. Battle for Europe will be produced by the British independent
producer Chrome Productions.
