Expanded Role for MTVN Latin America Exec

MIAMI: MTV Networks Latin America has promoted its CFO, Juan Carlos Acosta, to a senior VP role, with an expanded post that includes serving as the executive in charge of production.

Acosta will be tasked with overseeing co-productions across all of the network’s brands—MTV, Vh1, Nickelodeon and Nick Jr.—and manage its relationships with studios, producers and corporate sponsors. As senior VP CFO, Acosta will continue his oversight of the company’s financial areas, including financial planning and reporting, accounting and compliance, treasury and disbursements, billing and collections and tax for MTV, Vh1 and Nickelodeon Latin America.

Prior to joining MTVN Latin America, Acosta held a variety of key roles with major media companies such as Disney, MGM and NBCU/Telemundo.

"This promotion and expansion of JC’s role speaks to his commitment to develop and deliver successful strategies that are essential to our growth,” commented Scot McBride, the executive VP/COO for MTV Networks Latin America. “Most recently, JC was instrumental in the planning and development of Isa TKM, Nickelodeon’s first telenovela in the region which has become a top-rated program pan-regionally with teens 12-17 and number one with kids and tweens 7-14 in Mexico. I am certain that his new role will further broaden our slate of co-productions in Latin America and bring forth new and exciting projects that will continue to resonate with our audiences.”
