What are some of your top properties for MIPCOM?

The titles we have for MIP Junior are Shapes, TipTop, XOL and Crazy Cavemen.

Why will these programs appeal to buyers?

Evergreen believes that there is always room in the marketplace for a broad spread of original high-quality kids’ programming, and the titles we are bringing to MIPCOM reflect this.

Shapes is a series from our partners in Singapore, Peach Blossom Media, who have just started work on a second season of 39×7 episodes following the success of the first series, which was delivered earlier this year.

TipTop is a brand-new 3-D series from Wyvern Images in Hungary aimed at very young kids—no dialogue, plenty of laughs and some educational touches. XOL is a mainstream 26×24-minute comedy action series aimed at 6- to 10-year-olds. It’s a co-production between Peach Blossom Media, Steve Walsh Productions and Animatzione of India. Set in a world where there are no humans, only robots, it features the adventures of Roh, Rickety and Moonhunter as they come to terms with the fact that Roh may at any time transform into a giant—or a washing machine!

And then we have Crazy Cavemen from Silver Fox Entertainment. This is a pilot for a 39×7-minute dialogue-free 3-D show commissioned by CBBC. Created by Graham Ralph, it is inspired by shows like Road Runner. In this case a bunch of cavemen come to live on an island inhabited by dinosaurs, mammoths and other prehistoric creatures. One of them, Voracious, the raptor, is hell-bent on getting himself a nice Caveman Steak, but the Cavemen always manage to thwart him.

What are some of the trends you’re currently seeing in this market?

Budgets are tight, of course, so broadcasters tend to repeat shows more often than before, but there is still demand for original, high-quality shows with 3-D often preferred to 2-D for no particular reason than Pixar has taken over the world with its movies!

What are your goals and expectations MIPCOM?

We are certain to sign a number of deals on our existing shows, but expect to get a lot of new business with the new titles.
