Eva Fontanals

Managing Director, Edebé Audiovisual Licensing

What are some of your top properties for MIPTV?
Edebé Audiovisual, as a division of children’s publishing house EDEBE, is committed to the production, distribution and ancillary exploitation of kid’s quality properties.
To this MIPTV we are bringing well differentiated series in terms of styles and core targets, from ecological series Edebits, whacky filler Stoneboy, toddler’s physical preschool Boomchiki, and girls-action series 4 Angies.

Why will these programs appeal to buyers?
Edebits is becoming an ecological reference for animation series. Climate change awareness, oil pollution, sea contamination, all delicate issues treated in an entertaining way. The series has been sold over 40 territories, and it has just been dubbed into neutral Spanish for the Latin American market.
4 Angies was on the top 30 list of most screened shows at MIP Junior last year. It has fourseasons already produced, and a huge licensing appeal.
And we are bringing 2nd and 3rd season of Boomchiki; a high quality 3D production which teaches preschoolers to make proper physical exercises through dance.

What are your goals and expectations for MIPTV?
Our series are strong enough as TV properties; our next big goal is to transform them, together with our licensing department, into recognizable brands, and this will only happen once we create awareness of the brands. MIPTV is a great market to do so.
