etv media to Sell Princess Diana Doc on Facebook

LONDON: Coinciding with the upcoming Royal Wedding, etv media group will allow Facebook users to purchase Diana: A Tribute to the People’s Princess online with Facebook credits from April 21.

The social gaming framework Gameshaper, which was developed by etv media’s social gaming subsidiary, enteraction, will be used as the purchasing and broadcasting system via the Facebook platform. The film will cost Facebook members $3.50, or seven Facebook credits; the deal makes etv media the first digital media company to allow global Facebook users to purchase premium video content using the social networking site’s credits.

Diana: A Tribute To The People’s Princess tells the story of the final year of Diana’s life, her divorce from Prince Charles and the continuous harassment by the press.

Mark Cullen, the CEO of etv media group, said: “Watching online video is becoming an everyday activity for people all over the world. We’ve taken the integration of Facebook credits to the next level by enabling the purchase of premium content, as well as linking it to a global event such as the Royal Wedding. We’re thrilled to be the first to take this product to market with Facebook.”
